Pine is soft, light and cheap, and we would rather say all three plainly than dress it up. This frame weighs 31 kg in the 140 size, goes together with eight bolts and a hex key, and costs about half what the oak does.
What you give up is hardness. A dropped phone or a vacuum cleaner will leave a mark, and the knots can push out a bead of resin in the first summer; a cloth with a drop of white spirit lifts it. The white-oiled version hides both better than the natural one.
